I arrived in Istanbul yesterday, after taking a red-eye from Berlin, which was delayed until 3am. I got to Istanbul around 7am and then took a bus from Sabiha Gökçen, which was about an hour from where I am staying. I am staying in a hostel in Kadiköy, which is on the "Asian" side of istanbul. The Hostel as only been open a few weeks (it is the first and only on this side of Istanbul), so it has its issues, but it is cheap.
Today I took a ferry across the Bosphorus to Beyoğlu, which is on the "European" side of the city to buy a book for my research. Saw Takim square and walk around Beyoğlu quite a bit (my feet are killing me). No photos yet.-joshua
